These parks can be set up at locations that have a wide range of activities to offer to the holiday makers such as boating, surfing, golfing, water sports, sightseeing, etc. depending on the surroundings of the areas where these parks are located.

In USA, there are over 13,000 privately owned caravan parks and 1,600 are owned by the government. The rates are variable with privately owned parks charging more than government owned and providing more facilities as well.
