Making Plans for a Jamaican Vacation
August 25th, 2009A vacation is the time for fun and relaxation. And what better way to vacation than to visit the Caribbean. If you’re planning to go to the Caribbean, then you won’t be disappointed by Jamaica. This Caribbean island has plenty of villas and hotels to accommodate travelers of all budgets.
For those planning a Caribbean vacation, there are some plans to make before rushing off to make booking in various villas and hotels. When you travel to Jamaica, here’s what you need to plan for:
Hurricane season: Like all places in the Caribbean, Jamaica is at risk for a hurricane attack. Every year, the months between June and November are classified as the official hurricane season. Usually, most hurricanes occur around August to October. The other months are not likely to see hurricanes but do experience a lot of rain. The advantage to booking during this time is that most villas and hotels in Jamaica offer reduced rates for visitors during hurricane season. This is to encourage people to book a room with them during the lean season.
Crowd demographic: Jamaican villas and hotels are extremely popular with people of all ages. In Jamaica, visitors can stay anywhere from exclusive luxury resorts to budget hostel-style accommodation. Families with children can choose to book rooms in all-inclusive family-friendly venues while couples can stay at any of the adults-only resorts available. Some hotels also cater to students on holiday breaks. The downside of staying at such hotels is that the place is likely to be crowded and mostly occupied by boisterous youngsters. Stay away from these resorts if you prefer a peaceful and relaxing vacation.
